Letter to the editor: Facts > opinions

Please note: This letter reflects opinions regarding the November 2022 school referendum to construct a new, combined elementary and middle school. It does not represent the current 2024 Cape Elizabeth school proposal.

BY COLLEEN GRAVES

To the residents of Cape Elizabeth who oppose a new school building: The School Board members studied the issue....and voted for a replacement building.

We town citizens voted for the School Board to study these complex situations on our behalf, and they determined after substantial consideration that the best course of action was to replace the old building.

We don’t now need to turn around and have another general vote and try to undermine the SB’s conclusions and recommendations. Your strong opinion doesn’t make you right. If you think you can do better, you should give up your free time and serve on the town’s school board yourself.
